The only public museum in the country attached to a working prison, explore the history of 200 years of convicts and the French and American prisoners of war in the early nineteenth century, at Dartmoor Prison Museum, situated at the prison in Princetown. The museum is open from 9.30am with last entry at 4pm (although it's closed for lunch for an hour at 12.30pm).
